10 Steps to Make 2025 Your Best Year Yet

Mark here.

Looking back on my journey—

from my early days in the NFL to summiting the world’s tallest peaks—

I’ve learned that success isn’t about one big push.

It’s about maintaining momentum over time.

Motivation isn’t something that magically appears;

it’s something you cultivate and sustain.

I’ve been at the lowest points, physically drained

and mentally exhausted,

but I’ve learned that the secret to long-term success

is found in the daily grind, the small wins,

and staying steady through it all.

That’s how I’m setting myself up for success in 2025—and how you can too.

10 Steps to Make 2025 Your Best Year Yet

1. Get Clear on Your ‘Why’

Know what you’re working for—this will keep you going when things get tough.

2. Start Small, Build Consistency

Big changes can feel overwhelming. Start with one small habit that you can commit to every day.

3. Be Flexible with Your Goals

Adjust your goals when necessary. Life changes, and you need the ability to adapt.

4. Leverage Small Wins

Celebrate the small steps. They’ll add up and keep you motivated throughout the year.

5. Stay Committed, Even on Tough Days

There will be setbacks, but your commitment is what will carry you forward, not your mood.

6. Focus on Progress, Not Perfection

Striving for perfection can stop you in your tracks. Focus on making progress, no matter how small.

7. Create Habits, Not Willpower

It’s easier to stay on track when you make things automatic—habits don’t rely on motivation.

8. Surround Yourself with the Right People

Build a circle of support. The right people can inspire you and hold you accountable.

9. Take Time for Reflection

Pause regularly to reflect on where you are and where you want to go. It helps you adjust and reset.

10. Remember Why You Started

When things get tough, remember what first drove you to take action. That ‘why’ will push you forward.

The WYE Challenge

As you think about your goals for 2025, ask yourself:

What’s the next small step I can take to keep moving forward?

Sometimes it’s just about taking that one action,

no matter how small, to keep the momentum alive.

This reminds me of a quote I turn to often:

“Success is the sum of small efforts, repeated day in and day out.”
