But getting there required much more than physical endurance.<\/span><\/p>\n<p data-rm-block-id=\"block-36\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It required a team.<\/span><\/p>\n<p data-rm-block-id=\"block-37\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">High-altitude mountaineering demands preparation, communication, leadership, and trust. Every decision matters. Weather can change quickly. Conditions can become dangerous. And when you are operating in an environment where mistakes have serious consequences, you learn that no one succeeds alone.<\/span><\/p>\n<p data-rm-block-id=\"block-38\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The mountain taught me a lesson that applies directly to corporate team building:<\/span><\/p>\n<p data-rm-block-id=\"block-39\"><b>Trust is not built during the crisis. When a play fails, the team reviews what happened and looks for ways to improve.<\/span><\/p>\n<p data-rm-block-id=\"block-99\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In mountaineering, every member of the expedition must take responsibility for preparation, decisions, and safety.<\/span><\/p>\n<p data-rm-block-id=\"block-100\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In the workplace, accountability means doing your part and helping others succeed.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3 data-rm-block-id=\"block-101\"><b>The Difference Between Blame and Accountability<\/b><\/h3>\n<p data-rm-block-id=\"block-102\"><b>Blame asks:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Who is responsible for the failure?<\/span><\/p>\n<p data-rm-block-id=\"block-103\"><b>Accountability asks:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> What happened, what can we learn, and how do we improve?<\/span><\/p>\n<p data-rm-block-id=\"block-104\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Organizations that create a culture of accountability are better positioned to build trust, improve performance, and develop stronger leaders.<\/span><\/p>\n<p data-rm-block-id=\"block-105\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A high-performing team does not need everyone to be perfect. It needs everyone to be responsible.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2 data-rm-block-id=\"block-106\"><b>6.
